Wingate Provincial Day Report with thanks from Jodi Schultz

Penultimate provincial day held at Wingate proved to be a scorcher both in scores and in the heat.
With the Million Dollar happening further up the proverbial Jukskei the disabled golf field was smaller than the ones prior.
The heat and the course was so trying that there was even a count out to the longest day.
Hercules van der walt the clubs captain was Not going to let the his course knowledge or the Englishman lee west wood steal all the south African thunder,
Winning the day with 40 points 4 points ahead of Trever Kidson

In the disabled field even the consistent Johan Du Plooy battled to scrape 20 points.
Wimpie Lindes and Curtley Roberts battled it out on a count out with 34 points apiece.
With Curtley Bowing on the count out
In the Deaf Division maybe they never “heard” the news of the heat wave, with Mark “the Mac” Sticking it stiff on the 16th hole to close out every ones chances. Clearly the pressure was to much and he made a mediocre 20 points for the day.
Ray Graaff and Mark Goldin counting out to the last as well
with the Golden boy winning the count out fight (Thankfully not by not knock out)
Thank you again to Wingate CC and the Staff as well as Hercules for making the day a great day to remember
Hope to see you all swinging with us at Irene on the 9th for the last round of 2018
