Question marks loomed over the weather in the days leading up to the event with showers predicted to arrive in the late-morning and continue for much of the afternoon. Fortunately, however, the rain stayed away and instead cloudy skies and a light breeze were the order of the day.
The course was in fantastic shape despite the water-crisis gripping the Cape at present. The greens, running at a slick 11.5 on the stimp-meter, provided a stern test for the golfers as many came to rue untimely 3-putts. On the whole though, the scoring was impressive with Brandon Shaw signing for 41 points to claim victory in the disabled section.
As always, the FSP saw to it that the day was a resounding success. Emcee of the prize-giving, Ignation Douries, expressed the Association’s delight at having SADGA chairman Enver Hassen in attendance. Details of a SADGA fundraiser which takes place on the 25th of October at Devonvale Golf Club were also announced.
Our thanks to Milnerton Golf Club for their great hospitality and continued support of the SADGA. Thanks to the City of Cape Town for the donation of equipment for use by our FSP members and to the Western Province Golf Union for their unwavering support of the SADGA provincial days.
