Tembaletu crowned Interschools Champions

Tembaletu Special School were crowned Western Cape First Swing Program Interschools champions at a scorching-hot King David Mowbray Golf Club on Tuesday.

The Tembaletu pupils kept their cool despite the searing heat, not only emerging victorious but participating in the right spirit too, encouraging and congratulating their opponents throughout.

But the generosity of spirit extended beyond the competitors with a host of parties contributing to a memorable day.

It was special to have Golf RSA CEO Grant Hepburn and Operations Manager Anne Vermaak in attendance to witness the fine work done through the FSP. First Swing Program Ambassador Kelvin Van Baalen who, along with a number of other SADGA members, was instrumental in not just running the different activities but offering words of encouragement to the players as well.

After play the golfers were treated to healthy and tasty treats donated by Dish Food & Social.

The icing on a superb day out was an address by City of Cape Town Councilor Mzwake Nqavashe who not only commended the players’ skill but the work of the association as a whole before pledging the City’s continued support of the FSP Interschools in the years to come.

Congratulations to all the golfers who participated and thank you to photographer Nic Bothma who did a brilliant job of ensuring the special memories made will be preserved for years to come.
