New Initiatives for 2025
Player Development Camp & Coaches Workshop
Select golfers will participate in a Player Development Camp, designed to enhance both their technical and personal skills. Under the guidance of EDGA’s Mark Taylor, participants will receive expert coaching, in-depth rules education, and media training, preparing them for all aspects of competitive golf.
SADGA’s top coaches will also convene in a dedicated workshop to analyse performance, exchange best practices for coaching golfers with disabilities, discuss strategies to enhance our top golfers’ skills, and ultimately elevate player development standards.
To further equip players, SADGA has introduced a dedicated email for golf rules inquiries: rules@sadga.co.za. This resource provides quick access to guidance on rules-related questions.
South African Deaf Open and National Trials
The South African Deaf Open will be held alongside the National Trials from 24-26 March 2025 at King David Mowbray Golf Club. This event gives hearing-impaired golfers the chance to compete at the highest level while also forming part of the selection process for the Deaflympics 2026.
Inter-Provincial Tournament
The planned Inter-Provincial Tournament brings regional teams together for a spirited competition, highlighting unity, teamwork, and talent across South Africa’s golfing communities.
Equipment Assistance Program
SADGA’s new Equipment Assistance Program will support golfers who cannot afford new equipment. Thanks to the National Lotteries Commission (NLC), eligible players will have access to the tools they need to perform at their best. To qualify, applicants must meet participation requirements, maintain good standing with SADGA, and demonstrate financial need.
We’re excited to see this program improve the skills and confidence of our golfers. For more details and to apply, click here.
