The South African Disabled Golf Association will enter a team to participate in a three-way team competition taking place at Zwartkop Country Club on the 12th of March.
Each team will consist of 12 players each drawn from the Golf Management Campus, SADGA and a Zwartkop Invitational side. The competition will take place over 18 holes and consist of nine holes of alternate shot followed by nine holes of better-ball. The victorious team will be presented with a trophy at the conclusion of the event.
SADGA Executive Director Craig Moorgas applauded the innovative format and thanked patron Dale Hayes for inviting the SADGA golfers to participate.
“While our players have plenty of experience playing better-ball, alternate-shot will be a fun new challenge for them and I must applaud the Zwartkop Country Club staff for devising such an innovative and fun format,” said Moorgas.
“Dale Hayes has been our patron and an ardent supporter of the SADGA for a number of years and on behalf of everyone at the SADGA I’d like to thank him for inviting our players to participate and giving them a chance to test their skills against the Golf Management Campus students and Zwartkop Country Club membership.
“Our players are relishing the challenge that the format presents and are excited for what is sure to be a fun day out on the course.
“On behalf of everyone at the SADGA I’d like to wish our players the best of luck and we all have our collective fingers crossed that our side is able to lift the trophy.”
