20 years ago on Boxing day , Trevor lost his leg in a boating accident. Shortly after that, Trevor took part in the SA Disabled Golf Open at Spier and has not missed a tournament since then.
Trevor was one of the founder members of SADGA in 2004 and was a SADGA board director until December 2016.
Back in the day, Trevor’s had some great performances – tied 2nd with Dan Cox at De Zalze Golf Club in 2006, 2nd at Emfuleni , 2nd in the Swedish Open, 3rd in the European Championships. He also had a top 10 in the NAGA and CAGA tournaments.
Trevor has also made the Western Province side every year that he has been a member.
He has travelled to many disabled tournaments around the world and is looking forward to travelling with his good friend, Reinhard Friske from Germany, later this year to the German Disabled Open, US and Canadian Disabled Opens. Watch this space ……
He is a staunch Burnley FC supporter and has been his entire life.
Trevor, together with his partners Jonathan Sher and Ralph Sher own Banks R&L Hiring– a Marquee and party hire business in Cape Town.
For those of you that don’t know, Trevor is married to Lily, SADGA’s Operations Manager and Tournament Director for the Canon SA Disabled Golf Open 2017.
We all welcome Trevor to his 18th Open.
