Ignation started on the FSP 7 years ago as an 11 year old with loads of enthusiasm and love for the game of golf. He has always overcome his physical hardships and tried to excel in all fields of his life and he is a huge inspiration to the other children on the FSP whom he regularly motivates and inspires.
Ignation comes from Citrusdal and has spent many years playing on the Citrusdal Golf Club where he was a member in his youth. His mother and family still live in Cirtusdal and are extremely proud of his many achievements in the golfing world.
Last year he was invited as a guest of the The Sports Trust to play in the Sports Trust Challenge at Sun City. He got to meet one of his hero’s, the great Gary Player and also witnessed the incredible win by SADGA patron Branden Grace.
He is has won many tournaments in the SADGA and we are proud of his achievements. In 2017 when he played for the Western Province team in the Provincial Challenge , he sealed the deal and brought home the trophy after having the winning putt. This year , he once again helped the WP team bring home the trophy.
Last year in the Canon SA Disabled Golf Open , Ignation won the 10-18 Physically Disabled Overall Medal Trophy.
He is very popular among the fellow students and is hardworking, humble and with excellent leadership qualities and is admired by his peers.
Today, Iggy is based in Cape Town after doing a diploma in IT at Damelin College in Mowbray, and is spending time working on his game and practicing for the Canon SA Disabled Golf Open. He recently completed the Dale Carnegie course which he went on to help with his public speaking as a SADGA Ambassador.
He helps the WP coaches, Charles Williams and Daren Hannekom with the FSP schools in the Western Province. His dream is to become a PGA Coach and the SADGA will be helping him achieve his goals.
We all welcome Ignation (aka Iggy, Fire, Iglet) to the Canon SA Disabled Golf Open 2018
