Cape Town, 8 March 2022: South Africa has received the green light to host three events which will carry WR4GD points in addition to the three SADGA Open Series events to be held in 2022.
The South African Race To Challenge Cup schedule begins with the 36-hole Ebotse Links Disabled Open taking place on the 3rd and 4th of April.
Two events will run concurrently on the 8th and 9th of May – the Metropolitan Disabled Open at Metropolitan Golf Club and the Irene CC Disabled Open at Irene Country Club.
The G4D DP World Tour and USGA will use the WR4GD rankings as the criteria to select players for their events.
Participants can earn Race To The Challenge Cup points while prizes awarded will take the form of golf equipment and consumables.
SADGA Chairman Enver Hassen remarked that the three events will provide disabled golf with some fantastic exposure.
“We have many incredibly talented disabled golfers in our country and these three events offer a wonderful chance for them to show the world that on home soil they are a force to be reckoned with,” Hassen said.
“This year’s Race To Challenge Cup events will train the global disabled golf spotlight on South Africa which is an exciting prospect for players, fans and everyone with ties to the SADGA.”
Entry forms will be released by the end of the week.
