Report: March Western Cape Provincial Day

The March Western Cape Provincial Day took place at Parow Golf Club on Sunday the 14th of March.

The combination of wind and Parow’s tricky layout made for a tough day on the course for a number of players as only two golfers managed to play to their handicap or better.

There was no such trouble for leg-amputee Simo Mdudu, however. Mdudu – a member of Team South for the upcoming Provincial Challenge – rose above the challenges that the day presented, carding 39 magnificent stableford points.

Cedric Touzard was the best of the Deaf competitors – carding 36 points to eclipse Albie Louw by two points.

Among the able-bodied competitors meanwhile, Linley Stallenberg eased to a four-point victory after the four-handicapper notched a commendable 35 points.

Our thanks to the Parow Golf Club staff and their General Manager Dave Gleeson for ensuring our golfers had a wonderful day out. To Western Province Golf, we appreciate your unwavering support of disabled golf in the Western Cape.

The next Western Cape Provincial Day will take place on the 11th of April at Milnerton Golf Club.
