Putting Area Unveiled At St Vincent

A fantastic new putting area has been opened at St Vincent School For the Deaf in Johannesburg – a bright spot in an otherwise turbulent academic year.

2020 has been fraught with disruptions and stumbling blocks as teachers and students alike grapple with the challenges of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.

SADGA Executive Director Craig Moorgas expressed SADGA’s collective joy at the unveiling of the new facility.

“It brings the SADGA great joy to unveil this new putting facility which will no doubt bring broad smiles to the children’s faces,” said Moorgas.

“Good putting is the key to lower scores and so having this facility at their disposal should help our FSP golfers at St Vincent improve pretty quickly.”

Moorgas thanked the Central Gauteng Golf Union for their incredibly generous donation.

“The SADGA wishes to thank the Central Gauteng Golf Union for the R40 000 donation which brought this great facility to fruition and for aiding the development of our FSP Golfers.”

“Though the Canon SA Deaf Interschools has been cancelled for 2020, the extra few months of putting practice will be hugely beneficial for the children ahead of next year’s edition.”
