The South African Disabled Golf Association is delighted to announce that Joseph Phiri has been elected to sit on the SADGA Board of Directors.
Phiri has been involved in the SADGA for a few years now – most notably serving as the Non-Playing Captain of Team North in the SADGA Provincial Challenge. In 2020, Phiri skippered his side to a historic 11.5-8.5 victory over their Team South counterparts.
As the Head PGA Professional at Zwartkop Country Club, Phiri has a finger on the pulse of disabled golf in Gauteng as he comes into contact with SADGA members on a weekly basis.
SADGA Chairman Enver Hassen extended his congratulations to Phiri, remarking that his innovative thinking will come in handy as the SADGA strives to drive the region forward.
“Jo will be a tremendous asset to the SADGA as he is not only in-tune with the goings-on within disabled golf in Gauteng but is an innovative thinker who will certainly aid our bid to ensure our continued growth in the months and years to come,” commented Hassen.
“Jo brings with him a wealth of experience in the golf industry and an infectious passion for serving golfers from all walks of life which made his election a very easy decision.
“On behalf of the SADGA Board of Directors, our membership and sponsors, I’d like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Jo on his appointment and I have full confidence that he will serve the SADGA with distinction,” concluded Hassen.
