PRACTICE ROUND:

Please book your practice round for Sunday 10 May 2020 with the Mount Edgecombe Country Club Pro Shop on + 27 31 539 5330

CARTS:

Carts will be provided on a sharing basis to all Physically Disabled & Blind competitors.

Blind golfers may bring a coach and a bag carrier if they require. Due to the limited number of carts, caddies and coaches will only be allowed to drive in the carts with a medical certificate.

Only Senior Deaf golfers will be allowed carts. Deaf golfers who have a doctor’s certificate will also be allowed carts. Pull trolleys will be available to all deaf golfers.

CADDIES:

There are a limited amount of caddies – should you wish to book a caddie, please contact Mount Edgecombe Country club directly to book a course caddie.

Should you wish to bring your own caddie, the caddie would have to pay the caddie entry fee. Caddies are required to register with their player at registration.

All caddies need to be recognized by the tournament rules officials as they form part of the player’s equipment and will therefore be required to wear the CANON bibs.

QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS:

Official golf handicap index’s as from Sunday 10th of May 2020 will be used for the duration of the Canon SA Disabled Golf Open 2020. This will be confirmed with you at Registration.

If you do not have a handicap Index on the 10th May 2020, you will not be eligible to take part in the tournament.

Should your golf club not be affiliated to SAGA (South African Golf Association) then you are to hand in your proof of handicap at registration on Sunday 10th May 2020.

Medical Qualifications:

Physically Disabled: SADGA medical eligibility and registered on the WR4GD (World Ranking for Golfers with a Disability)
Blind: Sight Classification Form with SA Blind Golf
Deaf: Audiology report

ENTRY FEE – DISABLED GOLFER R 2 500 pp

ENTRY FEE - CADDIE, COACH, SPOUSE OR GUEST @ R 1 500 pp (no golf)

  • 5 rounds of golf including carts sharing or trolleys (1 x Practice, 3 x Tournament, 1 x Sponsors Day)
  • 4 Halfway house grab and go (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)
  • Sunday Welcome Dinner
  • Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday Dinner at Tournament Restaurant
  • Thursday Gala Dinner
  • Goodie Bag

    These are package deals and may not be changed or altered.

ACCOMODATION:

Tournament accommodation will be at the Gumtree Guest Lodge & Afri-Lala Lodge in Mount Edgecombe CC.

Price for 5 night’s accommodation bed and breakfast from 10-15 May 2020

  • 2 people in a room in Twin Beds or a double bed @ R 2400 each (R 4800 for the room)
  • 1 person in a room alone in a Double Bed @ R 4800

SHUTTLES:         

Shuttles to/from the Airport to/from Gumtree lodge will cost R 100 per trip on Sunday 10th May and Friday 15th May. Any other shuttles times / dates to be quoted separately

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:  (For South African Disabled Golfers Only)

Please note that there is no guarantee that funding will be granted. Closing date for applications for finance is 1st February 2020.  Letters requesting finance after this date will not be considered.

Physically Disabled Strokeplay (0-18 Handicap)

  • Overall Medal, Overall Nett, Leg Amputee, Arm Amputee, Les Autres

Physically Disabled Stableford (19-36 Handicaps)

  • Leg Amputee, Arm Amputee, Les Autres

Visually Impaired

  • Overall Medal (0-18 handicap), Stableford (19+)

Deaf

  • 0-15 handicaps playing Strokeplay
  • 16+ handicaps playing Stableford
  • Juniors (Under 23 years) Stableford

Seniors

  • 0-18 handicaps playing Strokeplay
  • 19-36 handicaps playing Stableford

Divisions are subject to change depending on the composition of the final entries.

Should the tournament be oversubscribed, the tournament committee has the right to limit the number of players that they deem appropriate.
