Cape Town, 31 August 2021: Callaway Golf South Africa continues to go above and beyond to help the members of the South African Disabled Golf Association and their sponsorship of a new set of clubs for Deaf golfer Charles Williams further underlines their commitment to positively impacting our players’ development.
Williams was invited to a fitting at Steenberg Golf Estate and was given the chance to try irons and drivers of different specifications which will complement his natural talent for the game.
SADGA Chairman Enver Hassen extended a heartfelt thank you to the Callaway Golf South Africa team for the gesture, remarking that it’ll make a good player even better.
“As our reigning Open Series Deaf Medal champion and a member of South Africa’s Deaflympics team, there is no disputing Charles’ talent for the game but with a set of fitted clubs he will be able to elevate his game to even greater heights,” said Hassen.
“On behalf of everyone at the SADGA, I salute Callaway Golf South Africa for their efforts to make a difference in the South African game and we feel very grateful for all that Callaway Golf SA’s Brand Manager Riaan Spangenberg and the team have done for the SADGA.”
Spangenberg says he hopes the equipment Callaway provides to the SADGA’s golfers will help them showcase their talents on the world stage in future.
“We’re extremely happy to be partnering with SADGA and look forward to a long and fruitful partnership where we can assist in a way to get players into products that will aid them in taking their amazing golfing talents to new heights around the world,” commented Spangenberg.
Williams’ first opportunity to test out the new clubs in a SADGA Open will come at the Cape Town Disabled Open on the 6th and 7th of November.
