The Boland Nomads generously donated a cheque for R10 000 to the South African Disabled Golf Association at a function held on Thursday.
Boland Nomads is a longtime supporter of disabled golf. Time and again they have made invaluable contributions which have helped golfers in the region improve their games and gain competitive experience.
At the De La Bat school, for example, funding from the association helped the SADGA install a putting area. This afforded the First Swing Program children valuable putting practice which helped them to victory at the 2019 Canon SA National Deaf Junior Interschools. Boland FSP golfers have always looked the part too, owing largely to the donation of apparel by the Nomads in the past.
Their generosity doesn’t end there, however. The Boland Nomads have helped their golfers gain competitive experience by covering entry fees into various tournaments over the years.
During the height of the Covid-19 lockdown meanwhile, the donation of food parcels to the First Swing Program was greatly appreciated by the SADGA and all recipients.
SADGA Executive Director Craig Moorgas expressed his gratitude for the latest contribution, saying it will help improve disabled golf in the region.
“The Boland Nomads have been incredibly good to the SADGA over the years and this donation underlines their continued and ardent support of disabled golf,” said Moorgas.
“We as an association are extremely thankful for this very kind donation and will use it to take disabled golf in the Boland to even greater heights.”
Thank you once again to Boland Nomads for being such a great supporter of the SADGA.
