2020 CANON SA DISABLED GOLF OPEN POSTPONED

The 2020 Canon SA Disabled Golf Open at Mount Edgecombe Country Club has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The event which was slated for the second week of May is the latest in a flood of postponements to grip the golf world in the past few weeks. SADGA Operations Manager and tournament director, Lily Reich said that while the postponement is bitterly disappointing for organisers and golfers alike, it was simply unavoidable.

“This is no doubt a blow to all competitors and indeed our organising staff but the health and safety of all involved in the Canon SA Disabled Golf Open is our number one priority,” commented Reich.
“We had hoped that the situation may improve but regrettably the Covid-19 pandemic continues to grip the nation.”
Reich said that attention will now turn to trying to ensure that the event does still take place at some point this year.
“We will make every effort to try and hold the event this year but the fluid nature of our current situation means that we cannot finalise anything at this time. For now we encourage everyone to stay safe, wash your hands and practice social distancing at all times,” she concluded.
